I Played in Serbia Brother

Here is Nikola Jokić, a fellow countryman, on being booed by Miami fans:

This to me embodies a certain mentality (obviously not exclusive to folks from Serbia) that springs out of having your mettle tested and coming through mostly functional on the other side. It is the “what does not kill me only makes me strong” (which of course is not true at face value) and I loved the way Jokić delivered it, not being dismissive but rather (I think) amused. This is how I feel a lot of times. I have been through a system crash, I have see Tomahawks exploding in the sky, I have emigrated to a country (Chile) where I didn’t speak the language, I started remote full time when it was seen as money laundering at worst and nuts at best, I co-founded remotely, in a completely different country (US) that I only ever visited and never lived, I paid taxes without representation, I have been through a grinder in different places and I have shipped, debugged, broken, fixed, operated, so much software and in general been through the wringer in so many different ways that I really am… not that bothered by the boos.

I loved this so much that I asked ChatGPT to make a t-shirt logo out of it which my wife then printed as t-shirts and we gave it as a present to all my friends from Serbia that live here in Chile:
